Kids & Teens on Campus is now a Maryland Certified Youth Camp and we are gearing up for a fun-filled summer at Frederick Community College. Our weeklong morning and afternoon program offerings include adventures in science, technology, culinary and creative arts, music, fitness, and so much more.
Summer programs, offered on our main campus, in our newly-renovated conference center, and at the Monroe Center, feature supervised hands-on activities to encourage students to think independently while having fun in a safe environment. Lunch Bunch Plus
This supervised lunch program, featuring Lunch Bunch (Bring your own lunch) and Lunch Bunch Plus (FCC provides lunch*) options, is from 12:00 - 1:00 p.m. daily in the Cougar Grill for enjoying lunch, visiting with friends and playing games. Please note, while we ask peanuts not be brought to campus, FCC does not guarantee an allergen-free environment. Please note, advance registration is required to participate as this is not a drop in program.
Monroe Center Waiver
Teens in the Kitchen programs are held at the Monroe Center, located at 200 Monroe Avenue, in Frederick. Directional signs will be placed in the lobby entrance. All students in classes at the Monroe Center must sign a waiver at frederick.edu/TAM. This online waiver must be signed before the student can participate in classroom activities.
Welcome to Summer Music Camps

Join us this summer for all-new music camps at Frederick Community College. Beginning the week of Monday, June 13, through Friday, June 17, participants may choose from Clarinet, Audio & Production, and Low Brass.
Led by experienced instructors, each of the morning and afternoon camps will be held at the College in the Visual & Performing Arts Center on the main campus. Audio Recording Basics
Ages 14 to 18 • Fee $159
June 13 - 17 • 9:00 a.m. to Noon
Instructor: Todd Campbell
Explore Audio Recording and Production during our camp this summer. This week-long, intensive camp will introduce you to the world of recording. We will learn about microphones, signal flow, digital audio workstations, and will participate in at least one live recording session. Incoming 9th graders through incoming college freshman are encouraged to attend!
Clarinet Camp for Middle School
Ages 10 to 14 • Fee $159
June 13 - 17 • 9:00 a.m. to Noon
Instructors: Meredith Gersten & Michael Gersten
Calling all clarinetists! Have fun this summer improving on the clarinet and hanging out with other clarinetists. We’ll learn tips and tricks you can take back to your school's band and will help you throughout the school year. Clarinet and bass clarinet welcome!
Please note: Students must have played clarinet for at least one school year.

Scholarship Opportunity
This summer, the Frederick Community College Foundation invites eligible families to apply for a Youth Programs Summer Scholarship valued at up to $300 per child. Eligibility requirements focus on family residency status, age of child(ren), registration in summer 2022 programs, and total family annual income, with specific details noted on the application. A separate application may be completed for each eligible child with supporting documents attached to at least one of the applications. If you have any questions, please contact Michael Thornton, FCC scholarship program manager, at mthornton@frederick.edu.

Attendance/Dismissal
Attendance is taken daily. Students will be signed in and signed out of classes by the instructor. Parents should bring their child to the class no earlier than 10 minutes prior to the start of the class. There is no supervision prior to this time. Parents take full responsibility for their child's behavior and safety. At dismissal, students will be supervised until picked up. Please be prompt. If you are going to be late, call us at 301.846.2661 to let us know.
Main Campus: We understand parents may have more than one child on campus at the same time. Students not picked up by 12:15 p.m. (for morning classes) or 4:15 p.m. (for afternoon classes) will be escorted to the Conference Center (Building E) to await pick up.
Monroe Center: Students attending morning cooking classes at The Monroe Center not picked up by 12:15 p.m. will await pickup inside The Monroe Center inner lobby.

- Children ages 6 to 12 must be signed in and out from their classroom by an authorized adult.
- Children attending both morning and afternoon programs on the same day will be checked out of morning. and into afternoon classes by a Youth Program staff member.
- The College will only release your child to those listed as “authorized” on the Emergency Contact Form.
- Children ages 13 and over are allowed to sign themselves out if there is a signed Self-Sign Out Form on file at the College. Contact Youth Programs Staff at 301.846.2661 or YouthPrograms@frederick.edu.
FCC Alert Notifications
Parents and guardians are encouraged to sign up for FCC Alert in order to receive timely information regarding College closures, emergencies, etc. To register, visit https://frederick.omnilert.net/subscriber.php
Dropping Classes / Refunds
If your child is not able to attend a course, please notify us immediately. Students who drop a class will receive a full refund provided the request is received by the CEWD Registration Office the Monday prior to the start date of the class being dropped. Students may withdraw from a class by emailing the CEWD Registration Office at CEInfo@frederick.edu. Email requests must be submitted from the email account on file. Requests for drops or refunds left on voicemail will not be processed. Refunds will not be made for non- attendance. Students requesting a refund for a dropped class outside of the full refund period must make the request in writing to the Associate Vice President of CEWD, and be accompanied by documentation supporting the student’s request. Appropriate documentation may include electronic or hard-copy documents from medical providers, employers, child care providers, or others can validate extenuating circumstances. The College reserves the right to approve or disapprove full or partial refund requests submitted outside of the full refund period. Contact us with questions at 301.624.2888.
Medications/Emergencies
FCC staff are not authorized to administer any non-emergency medication (prescription or non-prescription) to students. Emergency medications can be administered by FCC staff with written authorization from a physician and parent or guardian. Emergency medication includes a rescue inhaler or epi-pen. If medication must be taken while the student is on campus, the parent/guardian is responsible for coming to campus to administer the medication. In emergencies requiring immediate medical attention, your child will be taken to the nearest hospital emergency room. Your signature below authorizes the responsible person at Frederick Community College to have your child transported to that hospital.
Monroe Center
Frederick Community College’s Monroe Center is located at 200 Monroe Avenue, Frederick, MD 21701. Directional signs will be placed in the lobby entrance. All students in classes at the Monroe Center must sign a waiver at frederick.edu/TAM before the student can participate in classroom activities.
Parental Consent Agreement
The registration process requires a signature acknowledging parents and/or guardians agree to the following:
- No student may be on campus unsupervised.
- I approve of my child’s enrollment in the Kids on Campus/Teens on Campus enrichment program and take responsibility for my child’s compliance with appropriate student behavior. Disruptive and inappropriate behavior will not be tolerated and will result in dismissal. Students dismissed from the program will not receive a refund.
- Because FCC is a public institution, photography or video recording of students, employees, and visitors in common areas on campus or at ceremonies and events may appear in print or electronic marketing materials without permission.
Phone Usage
Cell phones must remain off during class session. If you need to reach your child while class is in session, please call our office at 301.846.2661 and a message will be immediately delivered to your child. Electronic devices and cell phones may not be used during class hours without instructor permission. FCC is not responsible for lost, broken or missing items.
Special Accommodations
Frederick Community College makes every effort to accommodate individuals with disabilities for College-sponsored events and programs. If you have accommodation needs or questions, please call 301.846.2408. To request a sign language interpreter, visit fcc-interpreting.genbook.com. If you have interpreting related questions, email Interpreting@frederick.edu. Sign language interpreters will not be automatically provided for College-sponsored events without a request for services. To guarantee accommodations, requests must be made at least five workdays in advance of a scheduled event.
Waiver of Responsibility
The Summer Youth Program involves classroom-based enrichment activities throughout the FCC campus which involve the risk of physical injury. I/We understand and voluntarily assume all risks inherent in the nature of these activities and I/we waive and release all claims, costs, liabilities, expenses and judgment against FCC and release FCC and its representatives arising out of my child's participation in these activities at Kids on Campus /Teens on Campus. FCC and Kids on Campus/Teens on Campus are not responsible for personal items brought or left on campus. DO NOT BRING: Games, toys, trading cards, electronic devices, money. All cell phones must be turned off during class hours. FCC is not responsible for lost, broken, or missing items.
