Join us for an end-of-semester wood firing experience, now offered as a Community Education course. This immersive, hands-on workshop provides students with the opportunity to participate in a full-scale wood kiln firing, engaging in one of ceramics' most traditional and dynamic processes. This class is open to students who have completed a Pottery 1 or Pottery 2 level class at any institution or school. Students will participate in the stages of the firing process, including glazing and kiln firing. All greenware pieces are due to the studio by December 1 for the bisque firing process. The class sessions are as follows: Session #1 – Glazing and Wadding, Session #2 – Kiln Prep and Load (students are expected to come anytime between the hours of 12:00 pm- 4:00 pm), Session #3 - Firing, Session #4 - Unload/Pick Up.
