We’ll critically analyze the framework of international development by looking at key concepts such as poverty, sustainability, and other development issues encountered on both a global level and in Sub-Saharan Africa. The course will also discuss ethical considerations in international development practices. Contemporary case studies of issues in international development, e.g. upheavals in overseas development assistance such as the elimination of USAID and drastic reductions in European funding will be analyzed for their impact on international development.
