This six-week course examines U.S. foreign policy through the lens of its bilateral relationships with a select group of countries, ranging from longstanding allies in Europe and Asia to emerging developing states with growing economic and political influence. Each week focuses on a specific country and the evolution of its relationship with the United States, analyzing key economic, geopolitical, and cultural dimensions. The course also situates these relationships within the broader framework of U.S. foreign and national security policy. In addition, several sessions explore cross-cutting areas of U.S. global interest, including energy policy, trade and tariffs, and defense strategy.
