Wars that Defined History: World War I

World War I, the Great War, the War to End All Wars, was the defining event of the 20th Century. It ended the 19th Century and launched the world into the modern era. Though greater conflicts were still to come in the 20th Century, the First World War set the stage for the world as it is today. By its end the globe had been redrawn, empires had fallen, and war on a terrifying industrial scale, had been unleashed. We’ll look into the world that was, how the Great War ended that world, and how nearly everything we know today comes out of the bloody fighting of 1914-1918 and its immediate aftermath.
