The High School Flute Choir is open to students in grades 9–12 with at least three years of flute-playing experience. In this ensemble-based course, students will strengthen foundational skills while collaborating on a variety of group pieces, with an emphasis on developing musicianship, technical proficiency, and cohesive ensemble performance. Students will perform with a well-developed tone, strong blend, and refined technical skills while applying effective ensemble techniques in a group setting. Throughout the course, students will explore and perform a variety of musical styles and techniques and develop an appreciation for music through active participation in rehearsals and performances. The group will perform once per semester, and interested students should contact Dr. Jessica Banks (jebanks@frederick.edu).
