Become a Certified/Geriatric Nursing Assistant (CNA/GNA)

Our CNA/GNA program delivers fundamental training, from initial introduction to advanced clinical experience, to prepare you for Certified and Geriatric Nursing Assistant exams; CNA credential is eligible for academic credit conversion.

Course Sequence Order
• CAH145 or ADE646 Foundations for Healthcare Careers
• CAH132 Certified Nursing Assistant Part I
• CAH133 Certified Nursing Assistant Part II
• CAH190 Certified Nursing Assistant-Clinicals

Duration & Format
• Program Duration: Five months
• Timing: Day, Evening classes
• Hybrid Format: In-person and online participation required

Requirements
• English reading and listening skills.
• At least 16 years of age at registration
• Physical exam before Clinical; negative TB test, current vaccines including COVID-19 series
• Current AHA Basic Life Support CPR card or SAF157 CPR Basic Life Support registration.
• Background investigation, fingerprinting, and drug testing (costs included in program fees)

Credentials & Certifications
• FCC Completion Award (per course) or CEWD Workforce Training Certificate
• Maryland Board of Nursing- Certified and/or Geriatric Nursing Assistant

Receive Credit for Prior Learning Experience*
• CAH145- Any of following certifications/licenses: CNA, CMA/CCMA (or other Medical Assistant certification), LPN, RN, EMT-B or EMT-I, CRT, AEMT or Paramedic
• SAF157 - Current AHA Basic Life Support CPR Card valid throughout program
