Thank you for your interest in Continuing Education and Workforce Development (CEWD) at Frederick Community College (FCC). We offer affordable, flexible workforce training and lifelong learning programs year-round. Below are answers to frequently asked questions.

How do I set up an account?
Visit the create a student profile page to set up a username, password, and contact information. Create only one profile per student. Guardians should set up a separate account for each child. Household accounts are not available.

How do I update my profile or change my address?
These changes require your 7-digit Student ID to process.To find your Student ID, sign in to this webesite, go to "My Dashboard," select "My Profile", and your ID appears in the second row. (You can also request your Student ID) With your ID, select the appropriate form below. What do I do if I forget my username or password?
On the Sign In page, click "Forgot your password" to receive a reset link by email. For a forgotten username, call (301) 624-2888 or email CEInfo@Frederick.edu.

How do I register for a class?
Online: sign in, browse courses, add to cart, agree to the Refund Policy, and check out.
In Person: complete a Registration Form and visit the CEWD Registration Office in Jefferson Hall during business hours

When will I receive a registration confirmation?
Online registrations generate an immediate confirmation email (check your spam folder if it doesn't appear). In-person registrations are confirmed upon payment.

Are there age restrictions for CEWD classes?
Most courses require students to be at least 16. Students under 16 who have completed seventh grade may be admitted case-by-case. Some programs set higher minimum ages based on the maturity and judgment needed for success. For details, call the FCC counseling office at 301.846.2471. [Authority: 34 CFR 110.12]

What payment methods does FCC accept?
Accepted online payments: Visa, MasterCard, Discover, American Express, and debit cards.
Accepted In person payments: Same as online as well as cash, check, or money order

Do residency fees apply?
Maryland students outside Frederick County pay an additional $5 per course. Non-Maryland students pay an additional $10 per course.

What if I need to drop my class?
CEWD courses follow the CEWD Refund Policy. Classes co-listed within credit programs follow academic refund policies.

How do I access online classes?
After registering, you'll receive confirmation emails.For online classes, access details arrive up to 48 hours prior to your first class session.

What are the technical requirements for online courses?
ONL, HYB, and SR courses require internet access and a current browser (Chrome, Firefox, or Safari). Some classes require additional software or hardware, refer to class information for details. Visit the IT Help Desk for tech assistance.

Where do I purchase textbooks?
Shop at bookstore.frederick.edu or visit the FCC Bookstore in the Student Center during business hours.

Where do I go to attend class?
Most CEWD classes meet at the main campus or The Monroe Center. Check individual course descriptions for locations and visit frederick.edu/maps for directions.

Is there a minimum or maximum enrollment for each class?
Yes. Classes that don't meet minimum enrollment may be cancelled, typically three business days before the start date. Classes also have a maximum number of seats so be sure to register early as popular classes fill quickly.

How do I find out about College closings or delays?
Sign up for FCC Alert to receive up to the minute information about FCC closings and delays. Classes scheduled to start during the delay timeframe are automatically rescheduled. See the FCC Inclement Weather Procedures for details.

What's the difference between academic credit and continuing education & workforce development programs?
Upon successful completion, academic Credit programs provide credit to students pursuing a degree or certificate and those planning to transfer to another institution. Visit frederick.edu to read about degree and certificate programs.
Continuing Education and Workforce Development (CEWD) classes are designed for professional development, job training, and personal enrichment, with flexible classes offered year-round. These programs do not provide academic credit. Select workforce training programs award Workforce Training Certificates upon succesful completion.
