Become a Welding Professional
Develop foundational skills and knowledge for entry-level welding including SMAW, GMAW, and GTAW welding processes. Successful completion of this non-credit program can result in eligible academic credit conversion.

- WLD 160 Introduction to Welding
- WLD 172 Welding Symbols & Blueprint Reading
and choose one of the following:
• WLD 170 Advanced Welding: SMAW 4G
- WLD 173 Advanced Welding: GTAW
- WLD 174 Advanced Welding: GMAW
- WLD 175 Advanced Welding: SMAW

- Program Duration: Twelve months
- Timing: Evening classes
- Classroom Format: In-person participation required
Requirements
Prerequisite: ENGL 70 or an appropriate placement test score.
- Reading: 237 or higher
- Reading: 229 and Writing: At least 237
- ESL Reading: At least 102
- ESL Overall: At least 276
To satisfy the English prerequisite, students must meet one of the following:
1. Score above the prerequisite course on the placement test
2. Provide proof of completing college-level English
3. Meet one or more of the listed exemptions
