This partnership program, available at no cost to participants, is made possible by the Frederick County Office of Economic Development and The City of Frederick Department of Economic Development.
 

New! Food Business Entrepreneurship
Join us this fall to build upon your skills and experience while increasing your credentials in our new Food Business Entrepreneurship program at the Hospitality, Culinary and Tourism Institute. Delivering foundation-level concepts and knowledge in entrepreneurship and food service management, topics include financial management, front & back of house operations, marketing & sales, regulatory requirements, kitchen skills, and more. Expert-led instruction also develops skills to plan for, start, and operate a food service business. Culminating in an exciting pitch competition, participants can showcase their new business concepts to local industry and financial community partners with opportunities to win monetary awards and/or customized mentorships with working professionals in the field. Participants can also prepare for the ServSafe Manager Certification and/or Entrepreneurship & Small Business Certification®.

Important Program Information
  • There is no charge to participate!All class costs are covered by the Frederick County Office of Economic Development and the City of Frederick Department of Economic Development.
  • Please note, this a limited enrollment program with priority consideration given to individuals residing in Frederick County, Maryland.
  • Classes will meet every Tuesday evening from October 2022 through April 2023.
