Thank you for your interest in Hospitality, Culinary and Tourism Institute (HCTI) at Frederick Community College. Food Business Entrepreneurship is a Frederick Community College, City of Frederick Department of Economic Development, and Frederick County Office of Economic Development Partnership Program.
 
Build upon your skills and experience while increasing your credentials in our new Food Business Entrepreneurship program at the Hospitality, Culinary and Tourism Institute. Delivering foundation-level concepts and knowledge in entrepreneurship and food service management, topics include financial management, front & back of house operations, marketing & sales, regulatory requirements, kitchen skills, and more. Expert-led instruction also develops skills to plan for, start, and operate a food service business.

Culminating in an exciting pitch competition, participants can showcase their new business concepts to local industry and financial community partners with opportunities to win monetary awards and/or customized mentorships with working professionals in the field. Students will also learn how to prepare for taking the Serv Safe Food Manager exam as well as the Entrepreneurship and Small Business Certification. To learn more about the next available Food Business opportunity, please

Important Program Information
  • There is no charge to participate. All class costs are covered by the Frederick County Office of Economic Development and the City of Frederick Department of Economic Development.
  • This limited-enrollment program gives priority consideration given to individuals residing in Frederick County, Maryland.
