Fall 2025 Classes  FCC Accommodations Process DAS Appointment Request Form  Program Handbook

FCC Accommodations Process | Disability Access Services (DAS)
Thrive students in need of disability accommodations must first register with the Disability Access Services (DAS) office to coordinate services. Get started by scheduling an appointment, either by calling the DAS office at 301.846.2408 or completing an online appointment-request form, in order to discuss accommodations, provide additional documentation, and confirm disability status.

Accommodation Plan Changes and Renewals
Accommodation plans are valid for one semester. Once implemented, any change(s) to an existing plan must be discussed with our DAS team in order to update the plan for the remainder of a semester. To request a change and/or renewal, please schedule an appointment either by calling the DAS office at 301.846.2408 or completing an online appointment-request form.

Personal Aides and Assistants
To add, or change, the name of a personal aide or assistant to an existing Thrive student's plan, either by calling the DAS office at 301.846.2408 or completing an online appointment-request form.

Sign Language Interpreting

At least two weeks prior to the date an interpreter is needed in class, send an email to interpreting@frederick.edu with the class name(s), dates, times, and location(s). DAS will make every effort to schedule interpreting services with less than five workdays’ advanced notice, however, is unable to guarantee these services without the necessary advance notice.

This procedure in practice is to ensure all students at Frederick Community College receive equitable access to their program of choice. Frederick Community College is committed to providing equal opportunity and access for students with disabilities by removing barriers to participation and providing reasonable accommodations. Disabilities can include but are not limited to learning, attention, hearing, vision, psychological, chronic medical, and physical. If you have any questions, please contact us.
