Located on the Iberian Peninsula, Spain is the most widely planted wine producing region in the world, producing wine for over 5,000 years. It is the second largest producer, after Italy and before France and the United States. Spain has an abundance of native grapes with over 400 varietals planted throughout its many diverse wine regions. We will be tasting wines of Northern Spain, predominantly the Rioja and Navarra regions near the Pyrenees, areas enjoyed by Cervantes, Hemingway, and Gehry. Learn about modern wine facilities that share the land with centuries-old castles and chapels. Today it is one of the great bargains of the wine world waiting for you to discover.
