We will begin our day at the Maryland Center for Culture and History with a guided tour. This museum houses a collection of historical and cultural objects, visuals, and artifacts. Next, our guide will take us on a walking tour of the Mt Vernon neighborhood of Baltimore. We’ll see the Washington Monument of Maryland, the exteriors and architecture of historic mansions, a Gothic church, and the Peabody Institute. We will also learn about famous people of Mt. Vernon including George Peabody. Lunch will be on your own at the food court in Mt. Vernon Marketplace. We will then spend the afternoon in the extensive Walters Art Gallery, home to over 36,000 objects from around the world and over seven millennia. This tour involves moderate walking up to 2 miles and standing throughout the day including walking on uneven pavement at times.
