Frederick Community College COVID-19 Updates

Your safety and success remain our top priorities. We are following the Frederick Community College Roadmap to Resilience and Recovery (3R Plan) and the Maryland Strong: Roadmap to Recovery, with the health and safety of those returning to work and learn foremost in our thinking. For the latest College information, please read the updates included below and visit frederick.edu/coronavirus

June 15 Update: On Campus Classes
Your safety and success remain our top priority as we continue to follow the recommendations outlined by the State of Maryland and the Frederick County Health Department due to the Coronavirus (COVID-19) outbreak. As a result, ILR 55+ on-campus classes will not be offered during the summer and fall of 2020. The good news is that we will be offering a wide variety of online courses throughout the rest of year! Be sure to check out our New ILR Online Classes for the latest offerings.

June 25 Update: Online Classes Terminology
The College is now employing new terminology to distinquish between different online learning modalities – the ways in which students and instructors meet in online environments. The way ILR classes meet is now referred to as “Structured Remote (SR)” because your classes meet at specific times for real-time interaction. When you sign up for a class, you may notice an “(SR)” acronym in the class title. This is for administrative purposes only.  The way you register, access, and participate in ILR online classes remains the same. If you have any questions, please feel free to contact us. Thank you!

July 2 Update: Message Regarding Stage 1 Operations
Beginning Monday, July 6, FCC will move to Stage 1 of the Frederick Community College Roadmap to Resilience and Recovery plan.  As we continue to develop ways to safely and thoughtfully offer a few in-person instructional experiences, we tried to anticipate questions and provide answers about what to expect should you register for a class that meets on Main Campus or at the Monroe Center. Additional information is available here.
