The following courses are offered on an annual basis. Available in either the Spring or Fall semesters, these classes deliver expert-led training to provide you with essential skills, knowledge, and experience for success.

Healthcare Careers - Spring Classes
CAH252: Medical Billing- AAPC Certified Professional Biller (CPB) | AVAILABLE IN SPRING
Prepare to work in the healthcare industry* as a Certified Medical Biller to fulfill an important role in the medical billing and reimbursement cycle. Delivering the knowledge you need successfully take the AAPC Certified Professional Biller (CPB) exam, class topics include preauthorization, charge entry, claims transmissions, submitting appeals, payment posting, insurance and patient follow-up, and more. Course fees include the cost of the AAPC learning platform, two opportunities to take the CPB exam, and a one-year membership to the American Academy of Professional Coders (AAPC). *Not direct patient care.
CAH487: Patient Care Technician/Advanced Patient Care | AVAILABLE IN SPRING
Designed exclusively for Certified Nursing Assistants (CNAs) seeking advanced care skills as a Patient Care Technician in hospitals and other health care settings. Find out how, as members of a multidisciplinary team, Patient Care Technicians care for patients requiring both acute and chronic care. Understand how to perform advanced skills for complex care settings and situations while gaining and practicing new skills including sterile technique, phlebotomy, obtaining electrocardiograms (EKG), glucose monitoring, respiratory care, intravenous therapy, advanced wound care, urinary catheterization, pre/post-surgical care, pediatric patient care, and more. Successful course completion satisfies eligibility requirements for the National Health Career Association Patient Care Technician Certification Exam. You must have a firm understanding and knowledge of basic patient care skills to register for, and be successful in, this class.

CMT500: Network Technician | AVAILABLE IN SPRING
CompTIA Network+ delivers the technical skills required to securely establish, maintain, and troubleshoot essential computer networks while providing the knowledge you need to successfully pass the CompTIA Network+ Certification exam. Expert-led instruction focuses on infrastructure, troubleshooting, configuring, and managing networks, as well as specific certification exam objectives. Reinforce your knowledge and gain essential networking skills in labs featuring networking devices such as routers, switches, access points, and more. Includes opportunities to demonstrate mastery on the CompTIA Network+ exam during several practice exams in a sophisticated remote lab environment.
Trades & Vocational Training - Spring Classes
WLD174: Advanced Welding- GMAW | AVAILABLE IN SPRING
With a focus on Gas Metal Arc Welding (GMAW), Flux Cored Arc Welding (FCAW), and oxyfuel cutting on carbon steel, this is an opportunity to develop groove welding skills in multiple positions. Perform GMAW and FCAW welder performance qualification tests on limited thickness test plates on carbon steel in accordance with American Welding Society D1.1 structural Welding Code. Also offered for credit as BLDT 225.
WLD175: Advanced Welding- SMAW | AVAILABLE IN SPRING
An introduction to more advanced welding topics, projects include Oxy-Acetylene cutting, cutting, and Shielded Metal Arc Welding (SMAW). Instruction is designed to develop your skills to weld v-groove, butt joints in the horizontal and vertical positions, with root and face U-bend test being performed on the welds. Includes preparation for the test in the SMAW Qualification and Certification (Hobart #37), American Welding Society D1.1 test, and Structural Steel 2-G and 3-G tests. Also offered for credit as BLDT 222.
Trades & Vocational Training - Fall Classes
WLD170: Advanced Welding- SMAW 4G | AVAILABLE IN FALL
Dedicated to Shielded Metal Arc Welding (SMAW) and oxyfuel and plasma cutting on carbon steel. Gain experience performing SMAW welder performance qualification tests on limited thickness test plates in the 4G position on carbon steel in accordance with American Welding Society D1.1 structural Welding Code, leading to an in-house certification. Also offered for credit as BLDT 223.
WLD173: Advanced Welding- GTAW | AVAILABLE IN FALL
Introduces Gas Tungsten Arc Welding (GTAW) on carbon steel, stainless steel, and aluminum. Topics include welding safety, basic machine maintenance, and welding techniques. Also offered for credit as BLDT 224.
