Maintaining muscle mass as we age is very important in maintaining quality of life. Walking and other aerobic exercise, though also important, is not enough. Improve your balance, increase your strength, and become more flexible. Learn from a kinesiologist and functional aging specialist to safely and effectively use light handheld weights and a resistance band. This course includes the rationale to lessen the effects of postural change that often accompanies the aging process. Students of all fitness levels are welcome. The course is taught in both a standing and seated position. You will not be required to get on the floor.
