In this course, students will receive hands-on flow cytometer training and learn the skills needed to advance their career in the cell and gene therapy industry. Lectures and hands-on labs will focus on the principles of flow cytometry, sample preparation, acquisition and data analysis, as well as isolation of T cells, T cell activation, using fluorescent microscopes, enzyme linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA), and real-time polymerase chain reaction (PCR). Also offered for credit as BIOT222.

Please read:  To enroll in the course students must have successfully BIOT220 or have knowledge of cell culture as determined by the Program Manager (CEBusiness@frederick.edu). This class meets at the Main Campus, 7932 Opossumtown Pike, Frederick MD 21701 in Catoctin Hall room C102. Classes will meet in person and require online participation as noted in a syllabus or course schedule that the instructor will provide. Online participation may include real-time virtual participation or non-scheduled asynchronous participation.
