Learn how to read and follow a commercial sewing pattern and basic shirt making principles. There’s no pressure in this class, because this shirt is too small to fit you. This adorable button-down shirt is full of learning opportunities that you can apply to other garments, including how to select the right size pattern for you, selecting the right fabric and sewing supplies, and finishing details for the best results. You will develop basic garment construction skills: sew the right size buttonholes, sew on buttons by machine, set-in sleeves, construct a collar and band, patch pocket, and more. The benefits of making a miniature-sized shirt are priceless, because there are no expectations, just learning opportunities. The knowledge you will gain in this class will last a lifetime, and give you confidence to make clothing sized just for you. Students will be emailed a list of supplies needed prior to the course. Supply costs vary from $25-$50 depending on the exact items purchased.
