Music is a total brain workout. This beginner class is designed to improve your mental alertness and memory while learning to play guitar in a relaxed, enjoyable environment. You’ll learn basic information about the guitar and its parts, including how to tune an instrument and change strings. You’ll then move on to learning how to play basic chords and sing simple songs. Students are not required to know how to read sheet music. Students will need to bring a guitar, acoustic or electric (an amplifier will be available), or be willing to acquire one after the first class with advice from the instructor. Having an opportunity to try out your new skills and play with other students will be the highlight of the class.
