Step back into the second half of your high school history “survey class” as we explore American history from Reconstruction through the post–World War II era. Together, we’ll trace the nation’s journey from the aftermath of the Civil War into the Gilded Age, through the Great War and the Great Depression, and into the sweeping changes of World War II. We’ll examine the enduring legacy of the Greatest Generation and the rise of the Baby Boomers. These hundred years shaped the United States we know today—its politics, culture, and identity—through events whose impact still echoes in our lives.
