« back to classes page
Rogers was a hard drinker, a profligate, accused of treason, dismissed from command, and imprisoned for debt. Yet he and his ranger corps—a renowned group of colonial frontiersmen who fought for the British during the French and Indian War—became the precursors to the United States Army Rangers. We’ll explore the group’s role in the French and Indian War and during Pontiac's War. We’ll also examine Rogers’ command at Michilimackinac, his treason trial in Montreal, and his successes and eventual dismissal during the American Revolution.
