Frederick Uncovered brings the city’s past to life through engaging stories, historic places, and surprising facts. This entertaining lecture series reveals the moments and people that shaped Frederick, Maryland. This session explores the past of familiar buildings throughout the Frederick area, uncovering their rich and often surprising histories. Learn when these structures were built, the purposes they originally served, and the notable people connected to them. We'll also examine architectural features and styles that reflect different periods in Frederick’s development. Sites discussed include historic homes, former retail spaces, and well-known landmarks such as City Hall, former markets, Opera House, Shab Row, residences around Court House Square, the Beatty-Cramer House, the Steiner House, and others.
