Introduces students to American Sign Language (ASL). Students will begin developing basic ASL skills including comprehension of a message in ASL, and demonstration of correct basic ASL to English and English to ASL interpretation. Students will demonstrate this by correctly using a variety of ASL grammar features. Students will also develop beginner level sign vocabulary. Students will be required to attend tutoring sessions (15 hours) beyond the scheduled class times.

Please read:  This course will meet on campus in an in-person environment. This class is co-listed with American Sign Language I, ASLS121-4, 1054. This class will meet at the Main Campus at Braddock Hall (B building) room KC100. Please check the FCC Bookstore for required textbooks. Each section will include both credit and continuing education students. The expectations for attendance, participation, and effort are the same for all students. The course will be graded for all students. Students will be required to sign into Blackboard to access instructor information, course orientation, and learning materials. Registration will close one week prior to the class start date.
