This exciting and hands-on 12-week course invites students to have fun in the kitchen while learning to create delicious meals they can enjoy every day. In the first six weeks, students will jump into the world of breakfast by making a variety of favorites like eggs, cereals, breakfast meats, fluffy batter-based treats, and even some sweet morning goodies. Students will explore new cooking techniques while discovering how to start the day with meals that are both tasty and energizing.
In the final six weeks, the fun continues with quick and creative lunch ideas. Students will prepare a variety of flavorful options such as sandwiches, fresh salads, and other go-to favorites that are perfect for enjoying at home or packing for meals on the move. This course turns everyday cooking into an enjoyable experience while helping students build confidence, independence, and real-life skills they can use every day. This unique non-credit course was developed for adults with developmental disabilities to support their ability to function more independently at home, at work, and in the community.
