In the third and final installment of this course, we will travel “Around the World in 80 Days” (Jules Verne.) Students will explore the changing world, Nellie Bly, journalism, and feminism in the workplace. The assignment for this course will be a 5-week fictional journal, describing adventures, trials, and tribulations that the student faces as they travel to the destination of their choice. Materials needed for this class include Around the World in 80 Days by Jules Verne (any edition, unabridged) and Journey to the Center of the Earth by Jules Verne (any edition, unabridged). Students are responsible for acquiring their own books.
