Based on the New York Times bestseller, Why We Sleep, by Matthew Walker, PhD, we will examine the critical need for sleep and the essential role it plays in brain health and functioning. As a professor of neuroscience and psychology at UC Berkeley, and the director of the Center for Human Sleep Science, Walker’s groundbreaking research demonstrates how sleep impacts every aspect of our lives from decision-making to emotional regulation, immune system functioning, regulating our appetite, and more.
