Clothing, towels, blankets, and bed linens. We take advantage of the textiles that we use in our daily lives. However, woven into the cloth are the stories of our time. This course will explore the stories of early Americans through the textiles they created from the beautifully embroidered tie-on pockets women wore under their petticoats to the brightly colored handwoven coverlets that graced beds in antebellum homes.
