Join award-winning local documentarian, author and historian Chris Haugh for a walking tour through one of Washington D.C’s most historic burial grounds, Oak Hill Cemetery. Located in the center of Georgetown, along Rock Creek, this garden park cemetery serves as eternal home to former politicians, military veterans, businesspersons and dozens of notable families of the nation's capital. More importantly for this tour, our guide will point out, and discuss in full, decedents buried here having direct ties to Frederick County and Frederick's Mount Olivet Cemetery where Chris serves as Preservation Manager and Historian. Bring your walking shoes as we plan to cover a few miles through the hilly terrain of winding trails and lanes of Oak Hill. The tour will last until 1pm. We will then head to Potomac Park in Montgomery County where you will be able to enjoy a late lunch on your own at one of the many restaurants located in this new and vibrant neighborhood.
