Get ready to make a difference in the life of a child. Earn one of four Child Care Certificates at Frederick Community College. Each area of concentration meets the Maryland State Department of Education, Office of Child Care and Maryland Child Care Credential Program requirements. Additional learning opportunities include emergency preparedness and professional development as well as periodic seminars and conferences.

Certificates are awarded upon successful completion of online courses within an area of concentration as noted below. For information about on-campus classroom instruction, please contact us to learn more.


• Infant/Toddler Child Care (135 hours): Child Growth & Development,Preschool Child Care -and- Infant & Toddler Care
• Preschool Child Care (90 hours): Child Growth & Development -and- Preschool Curriculum & Activities
• School Age Child Care (90 hours): Child Growth & Development -and- School Age Child Care
• Child Care Center Director (135-180 hours): Complete one of the above programs -and- Child Care Administration. Number of hours depends on program selection.
