Child Care Career Certification
Earn Child Care career industry certification and prepare for success at FCC. Gain skills to nurture, teach and care for infants and toddlers as well as preschool and school age children while learning the essential developmental principles of social, emotional, physical, and intellectual growth in young children.
Each program meets MD State Department of Education (MSDE) requirements and aligns with MD Staff Credentials Levels 2-4. Coursework also fulfills MD State Department of Education, Office of Child Care and MD Child Care Credential Program certification requirements. New! Digital badge awarded after successful completion of CHI300: Child Growth and Development, and CHI301: Preschool Curriculum and Activities.
Infant and Toddler Care Certification
Build skills to work with infants and toddlers, and communication skills to use with families, co-workers and the public. Topics include growth and development, curriculum planning, material selection, and goal setting, for children birth to age three.

Preschool Child Care Teacher Certifications
Prepare for a child care center or preschool teaching position by acquiring the basic concepts of curriculum planning and implementation for children ages three to five years. Topics include teaching strategies, environment, and best practices in early childhood education.

School Age Child Care Certification
Gain the skills and knowledge necessary to successfully work in school age childcare programs. Topics include curriculum planning, age-appropriate materials and teaching methods for children 6 to 13 years of age.
